How long does it take for a windshield replacement?
Most replacements take about an hour to complete. A windshield repair is usually 30 minutes or less. It is best to do any repairs prior to the point in which you need to replace your auto glass. However, a replacement requires a downtime of a few hours after completion. This is because the adhesives need time to cure and bond to the glass.
Does car insurance cover auto glass repairs?
This depends on your car insurance policy. Drivers with insurance coverage for auto glass can typically have their replacements covered. You may or may not have to pay a deduction, it all depends on the insurance package that you have.
How do I know if I need a windshield replacement?
It is not always clear if you need a simple auto glass repair or a complete replacement. One method that you can use to determine if you need a windshield replacement
is by using a quarter. Take a quarter and place it in the crack or chip in your windshield. If the chip or crack is smaller in size than the quarter, it may just need a simple repair.
What is the difference between an OEM and an OEE windshield?
An original equipment manufacturer windshield is one that is made by the same company that created your original windshield. An original equipment equivalent meets the same standards as your original auto glass but it is made by a different manufacturer. Despite meeting the same standards, OEMs are the best choice. They come with the knowledge that they are the best fit for your vehicle and warranties.
